چکیده
Purpose: To study the influence of different sulfur fumigation time and dosage on the chemical constituents of Baizhi (Angelicae dahurica Radix). Methods: The relationship of chemical constituents in Baizhi with different sulfur fumigation time and dosages was evaluated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprint and chemometrics methods, including similarity analysis (SA), hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) and principal component analysis (PCA). HPLC was carried out on a Diamonil C18 column; linear gradient elution was performed with acetonitrile and water; column temperature, injection volume of sample, flow rate, detection wavelength and testing time were 30 °C, 20 μL, 1 mL/min, 310 nm and 75 min respectively. Results: The chemical constituents of Baizhi significantly (p < 0.05) decreased after sulfur fumigation though sulfur fumigation time and dosage were at low levels – 2 h and 25 g (sulphur)/10 kg (Baizhi), respectively. Conclusion: Sulfur fumigation is not a desirable method for field processing of Baizhi even when sulfur fumigation time and dosage were short and small.

A series of new furanocoumarins with long-chain hydrophobic groups, namely andafocoumarins A-H and J, have been isolated from the dried roots of Angelica dahurica cv. Hangbaizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae radix) in our previous study, among which andafocoumarins A and B were demonstrated to have better anti-inflammatory activity than the positive controls. In this work, a sensitive, accurate, and eff...

Topical traditional Chinese medicine- (TTCM-) related contact dermatitis is not uncommon but ignored. Patch and photopatch tests using 6 individual herbal ingredients and Bai-Zhi-Kao (BZK; ), a skin-lightening TTCM preparation, were conducted on 30 participants. Twenty-five subjects showed at least 1 positive reaction, including 6 (20.0%) participants who reacted to BZK. The majority reacted to...

متن کاملAnti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of Angelicae dahuricae radix through inhibition of the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase and NO production.
The extract of Angelicae dahuricae radix has traditionally been used as an anti-noceptive remedy in China. In this study, the methanol extract of Angelicae dahuricae radix (MEAD) was evaluated to determine if it has anti-noceptive and anti-inflammatory action. The anti-nociceptive activities of MEAD were evaluated by determining the writhing response and sleeping time, as well as by a formalin ...
